Life is too short to wear bad lipstick.
Every time I leave the house I find myself shopping for makeup–it’s a problem, trust me I know, but I’ve resigned myself to the fact, that I too have become a makeup addict.
It’s not as bad as it sounds though–in fact, there are a lot of perks, such as, being able to learn about some really great products and in return, being able to share these products with you–the lovely people of the inter-web.
My most recent fascination has been liquid lipsticks, a product that I consider a necessity when it comes to completing my looks. I have not always been a lipstick person, but I am now convinced that is because I hadn’t found the right product–until now.
Liquid lipsticks usually go on creamy and dry matte, which was the major selling point for me. Lipstick had always been too high maintenance for my lifestyle (read: I LOVE TO EAT AND HATE REAPPLYING LIPSTICK).
The number one selling point for matte liquid lipsticks? They aren’t going anywhere without a whole lot of effort–and I’m talking about a significant amount of scrubbing and numerous cotton pads.
Since I feel like I’m onto something great, I want to share some of my favorite finds with y’all.
These are my top three go-to’s when it comes to lip products.
Let’s start with my latest
addiction addition, Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Vamp. If I could marry a lipstick…
I have nothing but good things to say about Vamp–it’s long lasting, dries completely matte with a smooth finish, and it’s color is to die for….Get it? Because Vamp-Vampire-To die for… Anyways this ABH Liquid Lipsticks sits at around $20 a tube, which can get to be a little pricey when you’re fighting an addiction such as mine, but I think this product is definitely worth the investment.
However, for those of you who can’t bring yourself to paying $20 for a lipstick–don’t worry, as a recent college grad (AKA broke) I understand your struggle and I have another product that gets the job done almost as well as ABH.
So, I introduce to you, NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in both Soft-Spoken and Sandstorm–which are a pink-nude and a tan-nude respectively, that go on wet and dry with a creamy matte finish. They are not quite as long-lasting as the ABH liquid lipsticks, but at only about $8 a tube, these products are definitely a steal.
I hope y’all enjoyed the first of many reviews to come and just remember–Life’s too short to wear bad lipstick…
